Voice 21
Huntington School creates a 'talk-rich' environment where we believe that every child should have a voice. We provide a safe space for all children to practice their communication skills. Since September 2022 we have been working with Voice 21, which exists to increase access to high-quality oracy education, and we are proud to be a Voice 21 Oracy School. Oracy is the ability to articulate ideas, develop understanding and engage with others through spoken language. By becoming a Voice 21 Oracy School it shows our commitment to transform oracy teaching and learning across Huntington School, enabling all students to access and benefit from a high-quality oracy education. This will enable our young people to become confident, articulate and globally minded citizens of the future. Throughout their journey at Huntington School students will learn how to talk like experts within the range of subjects that they study. They will discuss and debate respectfully, thoughtfully building on the viewpoints of others. They will also develop active listening skills and ensure that everyone feels valued and that their voice is heard.
