Deputy Headteacher - Standards, Culture & Inclusion

FULL TIME

Leadership 18 – 22 (£78,702 - £86,803)

Huntington is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school with a Sixth Form taking our total student numbers over 1500, which includes over 300 students in the Sixth Form. Our students achieve excellent results, year-in, year-out, both at GCSE and A-level.

Huntington School is proud to be recognised as an Outstanding school, where “ambition for pupils to excel pervades all aspects of school life” and “pupils are polite, friendly and highly motivated to do their absolute best”. We believe that a great education begins with a strong culture and clear routines, and we are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who will help us take both to the next level.

This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who understands that routines aren’t just rules, they’re the rhythms that make a school thrive. You will lead on developing a culture where students feel they belong, staff feel supported, and excellence becomes second nature.

What you’ll do:

  • Champion a positive, inclusive school culture, which aligns with our school vision and brings out the best in everyone.

  • Design and embed routines that create calm, purposeful classrooms and corridors.

  • Ensure that systems are set up to celebrate achievement and progress at all levels.

  • Work closely with the Headteacher and senior team to turn our vision into daily practice, fostering a culture of excellence and consistently high expectations

  What we’re looking for:

  • A strategic thinker with a practical approach.

  • A leader who understands how to develop school culture.

  • Someone who can balance high expectations with warmth and humanity.

We are “a school full of opportunities” where “ambition for pupils to excel pervades all aspects of school life”. Our far-reaching, diverse and exciting curriculum, commitment to enrichment, and our values of respect, honesty and kindness, underpin everything we do. Pupils thrive here, enjoying lively debate, broad horizons, and a culture where they feel safe, supported, and proud to belong.

As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a central role in sustaining this ethos - helping us maintain calm, purposeful routines and a culture that ensures every student leaves with the qualifications and confidence to succeed in their next steps.
