Senior Science Technician

FULL TIME, TERM TIME PLUS 3 WEEKS

Grade 6 £27,514 - £30,015 (£24,445 - £28,318 pro rata)

As a Senior Science Technician, you’ll be at the heart of daily school life, ensuring every student receives the practical science support they need to succeed. Under the guidance of the Subject Leader, you will: 

  • Support a team of Science Technicians to prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments. 

  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the laboratory environment. 

  • Support teaching staff in the delivery of practical science lessons. 

  • Manage the inventory of chemicals and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained. 

  • Provide technical support and guidance to students during laboratory sessions. 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new experiments and practical activities. 

  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and equipment maintenance. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent proficiency, including English and Maths. 

  • Previous experience working as a science technician, preferably in an educational setting. 

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures. 

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
