We’re looking for an organised, reliable, and friendly colleague to step into the role of Personal Assistant to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the senior team and gain valuable experience in school leadership support.
Whether you're looking to develop your existing skills or ready to take on a new challenge, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact.
While the role will be working with our Deputy and Assistant Headteachers, the successful post holder would be expected to predominantly support the Headteacher effectively, enabling him to continue to focus on leading a busy and demanding school. This would include filtering phone calls, emails and drafting communications on his behalf.
On top of this, some typical tasks would be:
- Handling suspension paperwork and making sure everything is accurate and in place.
- Managing SLT diaries – keeping things running smoothly and helping organise their time.
- Coordinating SLT duties like On-Call, break, and lunch duties.
- Helping run key school events – from Open Evenings to Awards events.
- Taking minutes in meetings and making sure actions are followed up.
- Coordinating the fortnightly parental newsletter.
- Working with the E-Communications Technician to identify opportunities to market the school on social media.
- Liaising with the pastoral team and prepare certificates for the Headteacher Awards
- Working with the E-Communications Technician to ensure that the content of the general notice boards remain up to date.
What we’re looking for:
- Someone super organised, with a great eye for detail.
- A calm, can-do attitude – especially when things get busy!
- Discretion and professionalism – you’ll be handling sensitive info.
- Good IT and admin skills – and happy to learn on the job too.
This is a great stepping stone if you're interested in progressing in administration or exploring leadership support roles. We’ll support you to develop your skills and make the most of the opportunity.
For an informal discussion about the role please don't hesitate to contact Paula Edwards (01904 752137) p.edwards@huntington-ed.org.uk
The school is also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
We are unable to accept CVs in place of application forms. Please download a job description and an application form from the link below.
