Science Technician (Part time)

Permanent, Part time (30 hours per week, term time only)
Grade 5 - £25,919 - £27,069 (£18,045– £19,268 pro rata)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and conscientious individual to join our thriving science team on a part-time basis. The duties will include working as a team with other technicians to prepare materials and equipment for science lessons, carrying out risk assessments, keep check of stock and disposing of waste appropriately.

The school has a supportive team of staff who will help you as you progress within the role therefore, no previous experience is necessary. However, experience in a laboratory is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Typical Duties:

  • Assisting Science Technicians and teachers in setting up and clearing away practical experiments.
  • Working alongside the Senior Science Technician to ensure practical equipment orders are complete and ready for lessons.
  • Handling chemicals, making up solutions including correct disposal.
  • Opportunities to assist with classroom demonstrations and practical activities.
  • Working within guidelines and procedures to ensure the laboratories are clean, safe and tidy
